Primordial Ooze - The States of Existence

This is the truth. Those of you who know me know that I have been consistently relegated to a lower state of existence. When I come to school, I am the HEADLESS WORM - the unthinking beast that moves around based purely on muscle memory. By the end of the school day, my situation has not much improved - it is only when I return home that I have access to the elixir that is the cranberry juice that can elevate me to the state of a MOVIE ZOMBIE - the wandering hulking sentience that rumbles "BRAINSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS" and seeks to devour everything including brains and chocolate chip cookies. Movement and actions is purely instinctual. At this point, only Life Balance (see Blenderlid/Genre Whiplash) can elevate my being to a ORDINARY HUMAN - yes, the state in which a person that is not myself can normally function at. But it is just as likely (read: about 10x more likely) that my procrastinating ways lead to an all-nighter... which drops me to the state I want to talk about.

PRIMORDIAL OOZE.

What is it. It is a state in which you cannot think. But it's more than just that. Muscle memory fails you. It's like late night limbo (see Blenderlid). But you have no presence of mind - you will wake the next day and see your chat logs and say, "HOLY FRICK DID I REALLY SAY THAT." And at school, you will be greeted by "HERPDERPWHAT." Because that's what you did last night. You oozed. And then your nebulous fingers typed some random shit that constitutes a cohesive thought - or so it might seem but you might as well just head-desk into your keyboard and achieve the same effect. You ramble. Like so. Because really, the only thing that's keeping you awake is the very rambling thought itself and if you didn't type this up, you would be snoring on your computer. Keyboard. Whatever.

Hey. Guess what state I'm in right now?

P.S. As a note, Energizer Bunny and Coffee Demon states do not exist for me. Those are reserved for people whom draw energy from god only knows. Is it a cult? THE CULT OF TIME MANAGEMENT? DO YOU PRAY TO THE ENERGIZER BUNNY? DOES HE GRANT YOU THE HOLY VISION THAT ALLOWS YOU TO MAINTAIN CLARITY OF THOUGHT, THE BATTERY OF TRUTH? ENLIGHTEN THIS SLIME. SLUDGE. BRAIN MATTER. OOZE.

Drowning

That's what I kind of feel like right now. I really need to get my brain working, because I REALLY RATHER NOT BE UP RIGHT NOW BUT I NEED TO FINISH MY CREATIVE WRITING. QUICK POST, ZING.

But seriously, I sometimes feel like I'm just drowning in life, and no matter what I do, how hard I struggle, the waves are just gonna pull me down. I guess this can be applied as either to general life or to specific mundane things - well, I'd hardly consider sleep mundane, but I digress.

Actually, let's start with that. Right now, I don't feel like I'm in a limbo but rather more like I'm drowning. Drowning because waves of sleep are pounding, crashing against my consciousness, screaming at me to go freaking get some real sleep, not those pansy naps. Drowning because despite my efforts to the contrary and cranberry juice, its just not enough to ward off the state of semi-asleep I'm in, like a swimmer out of energy whose kind of just flailing his arms in vaguely effective manners to claw to the surface before being dragged under once again by SLEEP. It's a bit ridiculous actually. And even though I'm barely maintaining my grasp on consciousness, the constant war to not droop, to not rest my head on table/laptop/cup of cranberry juice, it doesn't matter because my sense of thought has long been shot. Coherence? Not when I'm tired, damnit, come back later. BUT ACTUALLY COME BACK NOW BECAUSE I REALLY NEED YOU RIGHT NOW. Occasionally, some random music track plays that momentarily energizes me - but any attempt to arrange certain tracks to come on to do so fail because I'm already anticipating the songs and I think its just the initial recognition of the song that briefly elevates me from primordial ooze to a humanoid sludge.

It's annoying because I know that if I didn't waste all my conscious (well, as conscious as I get anyways) time OCDing over minor stuff, I'd probably be done and just needing proofreading/edit work. But now, I'm stuck in a state of incompleteness, where I'm tempted to reread and reread and OCD more but I can't but I need to but I really can't if I want to sleep. I'm just going to cut this post short because I'm feeling a draft of thought coming and I need that for my story.

ABP #06: Why so fantastic?

Although I have a sinking feeling that blogging is sort of turning into the "ning" of this year (if you guys still remember that from last year), I know I've at least enjoyed reading all the blog posts you guys all wrote so far. I think it's a fantastic opportunity, to be able to have so much content written by your peers available to you so readily and easily, ranging from the mundane to the lulzy to the trollish to the insightful. As for myself, I know that I kinda lost steam, because I've always found it easier to plan, to read than to actually write myself. This post is to spark me into writing something instead of blankly staring at my incomplete creative writing. And talk about how amazing you all are. WHY SO FANTASTIC?

I have to say, I've really enjoyed reading this blog in particular. Maybe its because I love the abstract nature of everything on that page. Maybe its because the insights made hit a little too close to home (the limbo posts, in particular, I heartily empathize with). Maybe it's the pokemon post. But it's really fabulous writing.

I've also really enjoyed this one as well. The sheer multitude of posts made, coupled with the complete lack of limits on what's written and the amazing writing style... it's fantastic reading for me and I love it all.

If I didn't mention a blog, it's definitely not because I haven't read it because I definitely have read everything on that sidebar and then some. There's some fantastic writing out there that if I really wanted to remark on, I would want to read again - and then cue wikipedia/tvtropes/encyclopedia dramatica syndrome: all sense of time would be lost and I'd follow links to everyone's blogs and spend so much time reading that I forget to write and finish my creative writing assignment. But I have really enjoyed reading all the blogs, and it'd be awesome if you all continue.

So in conclusion...

Carry on, comrades.
